hot dogs and smores

We had some nice weather a couple of weekends ago so we decided to have one more cookout before the cold sets in.

Robbie tended the fire while we made hot dogs

Anthony is slow.  He was still cooking his while everyone else was eating

Look, he's still cooking his.  Nobody felt bad though - they just told him to hurry up

Cerah scarfed her hot dog down and then enjoyed the rest

What is this?

Oh, a smores.  Ok, I like it

Someone else liked hers too

Doesn't that look yummy

Kodi had to concentrate on making his

Shannon was trying not to get messy but Max was waiting for her to drop it

Coffin anyone?

It was rainy here a couple of weekends ago as you can see by this lovely picture of my deck

So Rob decided to get started on the coffin we (read he) is making for Halloween

He wanted it big enough to fit him so I could save some money when the time came

Yep, just right.  Let's get started

Oh, you mean not yet?

I don't think it would be tongue sticking out if this had really happened

Everyone decided to get in on the fun

Not sure if this is a hanging by hammer or a tragic construction accident

Ugh, what's with the tongues?  Hey, wait...this fits Anthony too.  Hmm, useful

Apparently Cerah is going to find it funny when she's stuck in one

That's a little better - at least she looks a little sadder.  Hey wait, this fits her too!

I bet I could get them both in here if I pushed down hard enough

So, what do normal families do on weekends?

We went to the zoo

And never even had to leave our house.  Be prepared to see some weird things....

Here we have the species guineas pigas - notice how big his eyes look and the way he stares

It's because he is hiding from this - the species known as canine max.  Look at his posture, you can see that he is ready to pounce at any moment.  It must be lunch time

Here is Caninus CJ stalking his prey.  what would be easier to bring down?  A bison or a caribou?

Don't let this one fool you.  It may look harmless

But it was just waiting for an opportunity to steal the hard earned food from this one:

The species known as mousius Shannon

Wait, what have we here...is it grooming it's flock

sharing food

or was it just waiting for the perfect opportunity to steal also?
How sneaky they are in the wild!

Look, a rare breed indeed.....the short necked giraffe

Whew, we sure are happy.  The hunter has decided we were too much work

Back to his throne he goes to wait for the next opportunity
