Pumpkin picking

We made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch this year.  With so many weekend activities going on in these few weeks we decided to go during a weekday.  This, of course, meant that Anthony was not able to come along with us but we did pick him up a pumpkin.  Rob took half a day off and met us at the cider mill where the pumpkin patch was.  Going during a weekday also meant that it was cheaper than a weekend trip.  Saving money is always one of my favorite things to do.  There weren't as many activities open as there would have been during a weekend but the girls don't care.  They are getting a little too old for most of the activities anyway.

There were the farm animals to see

 Mountains to climb

Pumkins to be found

 and picked

Grape picking

We went grape picking yesterday.  I wanted to check out a honey farm I had heard about that was also a grape vineyard.  So despite 48 degree weather and 20-30 mile an hour wind gusts we jumped in the car and headed out.

We went to a little place called Honeyflow Farm.

And bought some honey.  They sell it by the pound if you bring your own container.  I paid just over $3.00 for this jar of honey.

Then we got to pickin' grapes

and showing them off

Anthony really got into finding the clusters

Apparently, he was hungry

Cerah wasn't too sure about sticking her hands in there

But she liked what she got out

Morgan was smart and found easy ones

and still got to enjoy a nice bunch

Hannah found them for us but we didn't let her cut her own

She did get to claim them though

Even I jumped right into the middle of the action

so I could claim some

Then it was time for the required family photo and back home we went.
Another new place, more memories, and an enjoyable family outing - there's no better way to spend a Saturday.
